BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - -  The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) led a tree planting activity today in this town.

Carla Dacanay, DILG Tree Planting coordinator, said the tree planting activity was conducted within the one-hectare area of the Jamboree Site in barangay Masoc here.

She said the National Simultaneous Bamboo and Tree Planting Activity carried the theme ‘Buhayin ang Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan” was also joined by the provincial government led by Governor Carlos Padilla and the Municipal Government Unit of Bayombong led by Mayor Antonio Bagasao, along with the towns barangay officials.

“We are grateful for the support and participation of various sectors - from the government and private organizations. This is our  noble contribution for the protection of our environment,” Dacanay said.

She said the activity drew more than 400 participants who planted 1,950 tree seedlings at the plantation site. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
