BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcay (PIA) - - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Nueva Vizcaya Second District Engineering Office (NVSDEO) has completed the Pag-Asa Road connecting Nagakay road and Teggep road to Junction Bitnong-Belance Road in Dupax del Norte town.
District Engineer Marlyn G. Inguillo said the project is on its Phase 3 under Multi-Year “Convergence and Special Support Program - Construction/Improvement of access roads leading to trades, industries and economic zones (Roads Leveraging Linkages For Industry And Trade Infrastructure Program- Roll-It).
She said the project was funded with P24.3-million under the General Appropriation Act (GAA) of 2022 which was started in February 3, 2022 and completed on June 15, 2022 ahead of the target schedule.
“The road project which is expected to be completed this year for its final phase was implemented in support of the fruit and vegetable processing areas in barangay Belance in Dupax del Norte,” Inguillo said.
She said out of the total 4.0645 lane kilometer, 2.0645 lane kilometer is completed. Project works include construction of a 1.409 lane km by 3.05-meter width measuring 0.23-meter thickness PCCP carriageway and 1.409 lane km by 1.50-meter width measuring 0.15-meter thickness PCCP shoulder.
It also involves provision of 54.0 linear meter, 910mm dia. pipe culvert, 45.50 cu.m. grouted riprap, 100.00 ln.m. curb and gutter, cast in place and 1- unit 2-Barrel Box Culvert and the provision of Road Safety Devices.
“Providing access road to the farmers will ease their burden in transporting their products. This development will translate into economic growth for the local community of Dupax del Norte”, Inguillo said. (MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
