DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Sept. 19 (PIA) -- The Department of Interior and Local Government Region 7 (DILG7) has lauded Dumaguete City for its best practices and good governance.
DILG7 Regional Director Leocadio Trovela commended Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo for showing superior skills and achievements as a leader of Dumaguete City, and innovating programs that improve public service.
In his message as guest speaker in a forum here, Trovela told city officials and employees that the city’s trailblazing role in controlling the spread of COVID-19 infection, solid waste management, personnel development, and government efficiency deserve to be emulated by other local government units to enhance public service.
“I believe that the kind of management of Mayor Remollo has inspired most officials and employees to consistently deliver quality, passionate and timely services to the people that they serve,” the DILG official said.
The forum is in line with the month-long celebration of the 122nd Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service this September 2022.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) introduced last year a 10-year overarching theme “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes” which reflects the collective experience of government workforce in the new normal and in pushing for digital transformation and innovation to uphold public service excellence and continuity.
This year, the thematic focus is on resilience, which is part of building smart organizations and a future ready civil service. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
