DPWH says improved Cordon-Aurora Road to benefit commuters, students

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - The Department of Public Works and Highways - Quirino District Engineering Office (DPWH-QDEO) has announced that the newly improved road along Cordon-Aurora Boundary Road (Isabela Boundary-Junction Dumabato) in Aglipay is now open to the general public will benefit students and commuters.

In a press release posted on the DPWH Region 2 Page, District Engineer Lorna B. Asuten explained that the preventive maintenance project covers the concrete pavement and installation of reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings.

Asuten said that the office implemented the P9.972-million project funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2022 to provide solution to the rapidly increasing average daily traffic and volume of vehicles utilizing the road.

“It is expected that the lifespan of the road will be extended, thus providing the residents and traveling public with seamless road network that will spur economic and social activities,” she added.

Asuten further stressed that the students of  Osmeña Elementary School Dungo, Aglipay who are now having face-to-face classes, will benefit from the said road improvement works along said major thoroughfare, bringing a safer back-to-school travel experience to the students.
