Mogol iterated the inspection and monitoring of areas that are highly susceptible to rain – induced flashfloods and landslides and the implement pre-emptive evacuation if deemed necessary with assurance that Minimum Public Health Standards (MPHS) are always being followed inside evacuation centers to ensure safety from COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.
Mogol also reminded LGUs and LDRRMOs to advise their constituents to continue monitoring weather updates and to prepare against the possible effect of strong winds in their houses, buildings and surroundings, including electrical wirings and trees/branches.
In the said meeting, Engr. Larry Esperanza of PAGASA – Baguio reported that based on the forecast track, within 60 to 72 hours, TS Karding is expected to cross Northern Luzon – to make landfall in the Isabela area and then exits towards the Philippine Sea via the Ilocos region.
