“This bamboo planting activity, that is now well-known nationwide, is one of the possible answers to our prayer of minimizing the effects of climate change. Bamboo is acknowledged by the United Nations and the general public as the best carbon sequestration material,” added Duran.
DENR 6 was among the agencies that joined the Nationwide Simultaneous Bamboo and Tree Planting Activity spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry 6 held at Sitio Lusod, Brgy. Taminla, Buenavista, Guimaras on September 19, 2022.
Aside from Duran, Guimaras PENR Officer Edgardo M. Rostata and DTI Guimaras representative Dorita Chavez led the activity with the theme "Industriyang Kawayan Para sa Paglago ng Ekonomiya at Kalikasan.”
