NIA hands irrigation project to Kasibu farmers

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) recently turned-over an irrigation project for farmers in Kasibu town.


Engineer Dan Gerico Bacani, Nueva Vizcaya Irrigation Management Office (NVIMO) Project -In-Charge said P20 million - worth Small Irrigation Project (SIP) was turned-over to the Four Source Papaya Farmers Association (FSPFA) to boost their farm production.


“The newly-constructed irrigation system is expected to irrigate 32 hectares of farmland devoted to palay and high value crops,” he said.


Bacani said the SIP involves the construction of diversion dam, canal structures, protection wall, canal lining, and access road.


The turn-over of the SIP was formally highlighted with the signing of the acceptance documents by the officers of the FSPFA who expressed their gratitude to the NIA-IMO. (OTB/BME/NVizcaya)
