PNP Chief visits Apayao, inaugurates new PNP building

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- The Chief of the Philippine National Police called for continued good relationship between and among the police and the community to sustain the peace and order situation in Apayao and the Cordillera region.
 
During his  command visit to the province of Apayao last week, PNP Chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. encouraged the Apayao police force to strengthen their relationship with the local government units from the provincial government down to the municipalities and barangays to ensure and sustain the peace and order situation of the most peaceful province in the Cordillera region.
 
He also challenged the police force to strengthen coordination and partnership with the LGUs to come up with appropriate strategies to suppress any anti-development threat in the communities.

Azurin also expounded the program dubbed as MKK=K or the Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran and cascaded the peace and order directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

 
The Chief PNP was accorded the traditional arrival honors led by Apayao PPO Provincial Director PCol. Reynaldo Ogay and was welcomed by Governor Elias Bulut Jr. and the cultural welcome of the “taddo and talip” by the Apayao Cultural Group.

Azurin with the local officials led by Bulut led the inauguration and blessing of the newly constructed headquarters of the Apayao Police Provincial Office in Sta. Lina, Luna. As a gesture of gratitude for the donation of the lot where the office stands, PNP officials presented a plaque of appreciation to the Apayao PLGU.
 
The PNP Chief also led the turnover of firearms and equipment from the national headquarters to the Apayao PPO during the ceremony. These include 95 units of 5.56 assault rifles, 60 units of 9mm service pistol, eight units of combat helmet, two units of night vision camera, 12 units of desktop computers, five units laptop, one android tablet and 12 units of printer.
 
Azurin was joined by PNP Directorate for Logistics MGen. Ronaldo Olay, Directorate for Comptrollership MGen. Jesus Cambay, Jr., PROCOR Regional Director PBGen. Mafelino Bazar and Deputy Regional Director for Administration PBGen. John C. Chua.
 
Also present were NAPOLCOM-CAR Regional Director Editha Puddoc, PRO-2 Regional Director PBGen. Steve Ludan, Philippine Army 501st Brigade led by Deputy Commander Col, Rhenante Salvador, Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, municipal mayors, provincial law enforcement and line agency heads and reps, members of Community Investigative Support, Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo and religious leaders.
