3T jobs up for grabs during Mega Job Fair in Dgte City

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Sept. 28 (PIA) -- Around 3,096 job vacancies will be offered to local job seekers for the Mega Job Fair scheduled on Sept. 29 at the Negros Oriental Convention Center, this city.

This activity is organized by the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation in Negros Oriental in partnership with the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in time for the observance of the “Linggo ng Kabataan” in the province.

PESO Manager Antonieta Villegas announced the activity will start at 8:00 a.m. and will end at 5:00 p.m.

Around 20 local companies and four overseas agencies will join the mega job fair.

There are 1,781 local job vacancies and 1,350 overseas job vacancies up for grabs in the one-day affair.

Daghang bakante from nurses for Germany, Singapore domestic workers, even the locals like Mendero Hospital in Cebu they are hiring: diagnostics, rad techs, and many more (personnel). Workers, cleaners, even the beauticians, cooks, and hair dressers they are hiring for abroad. It’s unlimited,” Villegas said.

Ten local call center companies will also be holding their recruitment during the said job fair.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Dumaguete Regional Consular Office will also join the event to conduct manual passporting as DFA officers will collect application forms and documentary requirements from first time applicants and passport renewals.

Aside from this, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) will also be present to roll out its services for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) like scholarship and livelihood programs to the dependents of their clients.

The job fair is open to all job seekers in the province.

Villegas said the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental will dispatch two buses - one is bound for the north and the other for the south to pick up job applicants in the northern and southern parts of the province.

The bus in the north will be stationed in Canlaon City and will depart at 5:00 a.m. while the bus in the south will be stationed in Bayawan City and will leave at 6:00 a.m.

The buses will pick up job applicants in the cities and municipalities along their way to Dumaguete City.

Villegas said interested individuals must prepare their resumes and other important documents for their application.

The PESO staff will also be in the venue to assist applicants especially in the printing of their resumes.

“We are hoping to have hired-on-the-spots. We pray for that,” she added.

Villegas also reminded the applicants to follow the prescribed health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the venue. (RAL/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
