Aside from senior citizens to receive primary doses of COVID vaccines, the Department of Health (DOH) official also targets to reach 50 percent in the booster coverage among eligible population in the province.
The strategy, according to the Santiago, is to bring the vaccines closer to the residents, and address any apprehension and misinformation against the virus.
“In Camarines Sur, the support and effort also widen among government agencies and other partners. Through this boosted effort, vaccinations are made possible in mostly schools public markets, bus terminals and ports to cater to more people,” Santiago said.
He added that house-to-house vaccinations were conducted by other LGUs for the senior citizens.
In spite a challenge, the undersecretary said that the government increases its mobilization so more Bicolanos get engaged in this vaccination drive, and to accomplish the said targets.
As of September 30 in DOH’s latest bulletin, there are now 1,344,241 individuals who received at least one dose of COVID vaccine. This is 94.09 percent out of the target 1,428,625.
A total of 992,706 or 82.49 percent are now fully vaccinated.
In Naga City, excellently 100.11 percent or 143,572 individuals are fully vaccinated. (PIA 5/Camarines Sur)
