BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- HIV((human immunodeficiency virus) services and HIV information will   be more  accessible with the AwraSafely Mobile App which the Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc. (PSFI) will roll out this October .
 
AwraSafely is a platform where a client can choose how to protect themselves from HIV through the provision of different services.
 
“Isa sa mga strategies din natin to provide information about HIV and HIV services is social media that’s why we already launched our mobile application,” PSFI Area Regional Coordinator Mikhail Carreon Taggueg said during the 3rd Quarter Meeting of the Regional AIDS Assistance Team on  Thursday(Sept. 29).

Taggueg said that on October 12-14, they will be distributing tablet to the facilities for them to have a run through of the mobile application.
 
One  main feature of the AwraSafely App is the HIV Testing Request where clients will have access to different HIV testing modalities namely community-based screening, facility-based testing, and HIV self-testing.
 
Clients who are on Antiretroviral (ARV) treatment can also request ARV medication but the client must be enrolled in the treatment facility. They may also request a maximum of 10 condoms and lubricants to their preferred facility through the App.
 

The AwraSafely also features Online Legal CARE or Community Access to Redress and Empowerment. Free online legal assistance will be provided to clients in helping them to access justice institutions and redress mechanism.
 
The App also includes PrEP Request, HIV self-testing result submission, and clients may cancel their request if there is a conflict in schedule or they made a mistake on submitting a request.
 
“’Yung App na ‘yun ay hindi lang for HIV testing services only, puwede rin silang makakuha ng proper information ng HIV and AIDS para ma-lessen ‘yung mga misconceptions,” Taggueg added.
 
Established on  February 14, 2020, AwraSafely is more than just an HIV awareness campaign as this weave together the HIV services of the government agencies and non-government organizations at the forefront of HIV response in the country such as the PSFI, Department of Health, TLFShare, LoveYourself Inc., and UNAIDS.
