Bicol University notches top 2 spots for social workers' exam

LEGAZPI CITY, ALBAY (PIA) –Two campuses of Bicol University (BU) ranked first and second among the top performing schools in the Philippines for the Social Workers Licensure Examination (SWLE) this year.

The BU Tabaco Campus notched the top spot with a 100% passing rate for its 25 examinees, while the BU College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (BUCSSP) at the Daraga Camous ranked second with a 99.05 passing rate, or 104 passers out of 105 examinees. thereby surpassing the 62.57% national passing rate.

The BUCSSP produced the highest number of registered social workers (RSWs) in the country. Of the 104 examinees, 102 are first-timers.

Jonna Mae Bogalbal of the BUTC also ranked as the 9th placer among the examinees with a rating of 86.40

Jonna Mae Bogñalbal of the Bicol University Tabaco Campus ranked as the 9th placer at the recent the Social Workers Licensure Examination (SWLE). The BU Tabaco and Daraga campuses are the top two best performing schools for the 2022 SWLE, with 100% and 99.05 passing rate respectively.

‘’Aside from mental preparations, I also make sure to take care of myself above all since if you neglect yourself, you cannot focus in studying. You’ll just be distracted,” she said.

Despite the hardships, she said that her faith, will, and drive made her more eager to study.

She also urged the next examinees to start early in taking their reviews.

“There is a need to start early for the reviews. You will have to devote your time, your resources, and your investment in your review materials for the examination. You need to properly manage your time, "Bogalbal said."

The Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) has declared 2,955 passrates out of 4,723 examinees.

In July 2018, the BU Tabaco and Daraga campuses also ranked as the top and second best performing schools for the SWLE, with respective ratings of 91.07% or 51 passers out of 56 examinees and 90.60% or 106 RSWs out of 117 examinees. (CLM/PIA5/Albay)
