CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – The Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office Mimaropa presented its plan on agricultural modernization and intervention for 2023 to Calapan City Mayor Marilou F. Morillo and to the City Agricultural Services Department in a meeting held on October 5 at City Hall.
DA Mimaropa Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer Artemio Casareno laid out various programs for rice, corn, high value crops development, livestock and organic agriculture that the city government will receive in 2023.
According to Casareno, DA would provide intervention to extend their services on product and extension training, machineries, equipment and postharvest facilities as well as irrigation network services.
Casareno also explained the guidelines in one of the DA’s projects dubbed ‘Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo’ (4Ks), a program intended for IPs on their livelihood in the province of Oriental Mindoro. (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
