TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - The Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT) - Region 2 has recently opened a trade fair showcasing various local products from across the Cagayan Valley.

The fair, which is located at the lower ground floor of Robinsons Place Tuguegarao will last from October to December this year.

According to Oliver S. De Leon, Executive Director of PHILEXPORT-2, the trade fair aims to highlight products from regional Micro, Small, and Medium-scale Enterprises (MSMEs) to help them achieve the goal of making them capable of joining the export market in the future.

Another objective of the project is to encourage these member MSMEs to upgrade their product lines and upscale their operations until they meet export standards.

Government agencies like the DTI, DOST, and DA supported the event by inviting MSMEs, who are beneficiaries from their MSME development programs, to join the trade fair.

De Leon encouraged consumers to buy from local producers as much as possible as their products are often more sustainably produced, meaning these are more environment-friendly and they are less likely to contain harmful food chemicals.
