Polish Embassy to visit Iloilo City for Cine Europa 25

ILOILO CITY (PIA) -- Representatives of the Embassy of Poland in Manila are set to visit here on Saturday, Oct. 8, for the 25th Anniversary of Cine Europa at the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Cinematheque Centre Iloilo.

Cine Europa is the longest-running European film festival in the country. But due to the pandemic, it underwent a two-year hiatus.

This year, it is back for its silver anniversary with 25 films from the European Union member states with special participation from Ukraine.

These critically acclaimed European films are scheduled for screening for free from Oct. 5 to Oct. 13 at Cinematheque Centre Iloilo.

Meanwhile, one of the highlights will be on Oct. 8 when the Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Poland in Manila, Jarosław Szczepankiewicz, is expected to visit the city to lead the screening of the Polish film “Never Gonna Snow Again.”

Iloilo City mayor Jerry Treñas is also expected to grace the activity.

Schedules of the film screening are posted on the Cinematheque Centre Iloilo’s official Facebook page.

Cinematheque Centre Iloilo is under the FDCP agency which aims to be an alternative venue for local and international film screenings. This 74-seat capacity venue is located at B&C Sq Bldg corner Iznart and Solis Streets, Iloilo City with telephone number (033) 335-054. (JBG/FRG/PIA6)
