PSA Quirino holds various activities for 33rd National Statistics Month

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - Philippine Statistics Authority Provincial Head, Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin has announced that they will be conducting various activities such as exhibits, jingle dance contests, essay writing, oratorical contest, slogan making, pop quiz, and others in celebration of the 33rd National Statistics Month.

Prior to the monthlong celebration, the Provincial Statistics Committee had a meeting presided over by Provincial Administrator Carmen Jimenez where the committee members finalized all the lined-up activities.

“The main highlight of the celebration is the exhibit where the six municipalities, provincial government and the national government agencies will display their innovativeness and creativity in showcasing the statistical data as well as their tourism destinations in one package,” Agustin said.

Agustin said the different academic and literary competitions will be participated by students from the three campuses of Quirino State University and high school students from the different secondary schools in the province.

“The awarding ceremonies for the winners will be conducted next month as one of the highlights of the birthday celebration of Governor Dax Cua on November 4, 2022,” Agustin announced.

In an interview, PSA Quirino Head Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin encouraged Quirinians to help the government plan good programs for the community and for the country.

“The theme of this year’s celebration, “Boosting the Country’s Recovery through Informed Decision, Better Policies,” aims to reiterate the importance of data which the PSA is gathering from households and from various sectors as basis of the policy makers in crafting policies and for the government planners to be able to craft programs and projects based on the needs of the people,” Agustin said.

The celebration kicked off thru a motorcade and hanging of streamers by the six municipalities, provincial government, national government offices and some non-government institutions.

Engr. Agustin thanked Governor Cua, the six local chief executives and the NGAs for their support to the NSM celebration and all the programs and projects of the PSA. (OTB/TCB/PIA Quirino)
