TESDA trains Tabuk women on tocino making

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) provided training on meat processing to 20 women of Barangay Masablang here.

The 20  trainees that included Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program   mothers and barangay health workers, obtained skills on tocino making under the program on self-employment development of the City Public Employment Service Office (PESO). Equipment and materials for the training are provided by the city government.

City PESO Loyda Saboy said the city-wide program aims to open income opportunities to household women while attending to their chores. Trainees could market their initial produce for their start-up capital.

To further develop this sector in the grassroot, the PESO refers them to concerned agencies for financial, marketing and technical assistance.

The continuing program of the city-LGU reaches various barangays creating home-based income projects. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
