CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – At least 111 corn farmer beneficiaries from the identified 30 barangays in Naujan received Sweet Pearl F1 variety of corn from the municipal government of Naujan on October 11.
The distribution of corn subsidies to farmer beneficiaries is under the local government’s funded program on the Devolution Transition Plan being handled by the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAgO).
Aside from the corn seeds, the beneficiaries also received one pack each of AMO fertilizer, an organic plant growth enhancer which according to MAgO helps in increasing the yield of plants and decreases the cost of production.
Mayor Henry Joel C. Teves led the distribution of corn subsidy together with Municipal Agriculturist Raquelita M. Umali, Municipal Agriculture and Fishery Council Chairperson Nilo Dimailig, Municipal Corn Coordinator Jhoan Escalona and Executive Assistant Jojo B. De Villa. (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
