NIA inaugurates new building in Apayao

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- The National Irrigation Administration has now a new home in the province of Apayao.
 
NIA- Cordillera Regional Manager Benito Espique Jr., Governor Elias Bulut Jr. represented by Atty. Gerriahzon Sebastian, Vice Governor Remy Albano, Flora Mayor Rodolfo Juan and Apayao Irrigation Management Office Engr. Samuel Bahiwag led the inauguration and blessing of the newly constructed NIA Apayao office building at Poblacion East in Flora on Wednesday, October 12.
 
 The building houses the division manager’s office, engineering section, operation and maintenance section. It also has a conference hall and three guest rooms.
 
Previously, the NIA Apayao Office is located in the nearby province of Cagayan.  


Espique expressed gratitude to Gov. Bulut for his assistance in the construction of their new NIA - Apayao Office and for supporting the agency's thrust particularly in providing the farmers   abundant and consistent supply of water for their farms. He shared that   Bulut   challenged   the NIA-CAR to establish NIA Apayao main office located within Apayao, and he was delighted that this is now realized.
 
Albano also thanked the leaders and all rank and file employees who are working tirelessly as according to him, it takes much effort to build a sturdy infrastructure.
 
Mayor Juan also commended the leaders of NIA and expressed his willingness to work hand-in-hand with the agency. LGU Flora shall donate lot if necessary, for the expansion and construction of additional building for the agency, he said.
 
Meanwhile, Bulut   during teh courtesy call of NIA officials  assured   the support of the provincial government to the programs and projects of NIA especially on   strengthening and improving further the irrigation system to provide quality service for the farmers.
