SAN FERNANDO CITY (PIA) – The Naval Forces Northern Luzon with Naval Installation and Facilities Northern Luzon led the celebration of the Feast of La Naval at Naval Station Ernesto Ogbinar here on October 13.
“Ang pagce-celebrate ng Feast ng La Naval ay pagpapasalamat of course sa ating Panginoong Diyos at sa ating mahal na ina na siyang patron natin at sa Philippine Navy na siyang gumagabay at tumutulong sa atin,” said Rev. Fr. Norman Kagaoan Jr., captain and command chaplain of Naval Forces Northern Luzon.
The event was highlighted by a fluvial procession and “karakol” (a religious procession-dance performed during fiestas) which commemorated the attribution given to the Blessed Virgin Mary by the Spanish naval forces who prayed for intervention during the battle against the Dutch forces.
