DHSUD, CREBA all set for CAR Housing Summit 2022

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) - - The    Department of Human Settlement  and Urban Development (DHSUD), in partnership with the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Association (CREBA) Baguio – Benguet Chapter, is  all set for  the   2022 Cordillera Housing Summit  on October  18 to 21 .


 Adopting the theme, “Uplifting Filipino Lives thru Zoning and Enforcement”, the regional Summit set at the Newtown Plaza Hotel here, will feature 25 housing exhibitors and symposiums with wide - array of speakers on key housing industry – related topics.


Invited guests for the Oct. 18 opening program are DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, Senator Ronald Dela Rosa, Senate Committee on Urban Planning, Housing and Resettlement chairperson, and House of Representative Committee on Housing and Urban Development Chairperson Congressman Jose Francisco Benitez of the 3rd District of Negros Occidental.

Key shelter agencies such as the National Housing Authority, Housing Development Mutual Fund, Social Housing Finance Corporation, Human Settlement Adjudication Commission and National Housing Mortgage Finance Corporation will also present their banner programs during the summit.


DHSUD – Cordillera Regional Director Maria Amoroso said the Housing Summit is in line with the October observance of National Shelter Month with the theme, “Abot Kayang Pabahay Tungo sa Panatag na Buhay.”


 Amoroso reported that   they will launch in the summit the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Mga Pilipino, the banner housing program under the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos. This aims to address the 6.5 million backlog by providing 1 million housing unit per year in partnership with the local government units, key shelter agencies and other housing industry stakeholders.


“Ipa-aabot natin ito sa ating mga stakeholders  lalong - lalo na sa mga local government  units, our partners in providing affordable and decent housing,  at ganun din sa ating mga kababayan na nagangailangan ng pabahay dito sa Cordillera, ” she said.


CREBA Baguio – Benguet Chapter President Fernando Tiong expressed gratitude to DHSUD for the partnership for the Housing Summit, as it will serve as a venue for housing developers, builders and real estate to introduce and promote their businesses as well as their corporate social responsibility projects and beneficiaries.


 Part of the Housing Summit is the symposium scheduled on Oct- 19 and 20 will have a registration fee of P1, 000.

The Summit proceeds  will    benefit identified   informal settlers families to improve their homes. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
