Davao de Oro still richest province in Mindanao, 4th in PH

NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro - - The province of Davao de Oro remained to be the richest province in Mindanao since 2017.

According to the 2021 Annual Financial Report of the Commission on Audit, the province reported a total assets of PhP 23.21 billion, which is two billion higher than the PhP 20.89 in 2020.

As for the whole country, Davao de Oro ranked 4th among the richest provinces since 2019, while Cebu retained its title as the richest Philippine province in 2021 with PhP 215.27 billion worth of assets.

Following Cebu are the provinces Rizal and Batangas with total assets of PhP 30.64 billion and PhP 29.71 billion, respectively.



Other richest provinces in the list are Bukidnon (PhP 19.46 billion), Negros Occidental (PhP 18.03 billion), Ilocos Sur (PhP 17.91 billion), Iloilo (PhP 17.40 billion), Isabela (PhP 16.42 billion), and Palawan (PhP 16.11 billion).

As for the cities, Davao City is the only in Mindanao that is listed in the Top 10 richest city in the Philippines listing PhP 26.56 billion worth of assets.

Davao City is ninth in the whole Philippines following Quezon City (PhP 451.01 billion), Makati City (PhP 238.56 billion), Manila City (PhP 65.25 billion), Pasig City (PhP 51.18 billion), Taguig City (Php 36.12 billion), Cebu City (PhP 33.34 billion), Mandaue City (PhP 33.01), and Mandaluyong City (PhP 31.44 billion); and just above Caloocan City with 23.38 billion worth of assets.
