NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro (PIA) - - Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga brought the celebration of Bulawan Festival 2022 to three geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in the province on October 17-19, 2022.
Together with the public security and safety agencies, offices from the provincial government and respective municipal governments brought a caravan of services dubbed as ‘Bulawanong Tunol Serbisyo’ to Barangay Datu Davao in Laak, Special Barangay Manasa in Barangay Anitapan, Mabini, and Sitio Macopa in Barangay Manurigao, New Bataan.
Among the services brought in the areas were elderly citizen, maternal and child health, medical check-up and dental, COVID-19 vaccination, circumcision, minor surgery (Alis Bukol), health education, risk assessment on Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) and water system, and haircut.
The provincial government also distributed rice packs, slippers, under garments, school supplies, mosquito net, and agriculture and veterinary supplies such as animal deworming, multivitamins, and antibiotic, root crop seeds, organic fertilizers, and forest and fruit-bearing trees.
“Mga ginagmay ni nga pamaagi basta among gipatilaw sa inyoha, nga kung dili mo kaadto didto sa sentro kay mangita mo’g gobyerno, ang gobyerno na ang mosaka diri sa bukid arong masandigan, matilawan (ug) ikalipay ninyo,” Gonzaga said.
The governor also committed to the people that more projects for the barangays will be implemented specifically road access and other infrastructures.
During the caravan, four people’s organizations of former underground mass organization of the communist movement received 75 chickens each for livelihood.
The identified people’s organization are Datu Davao Tribal Association, Datu Davao Farmers’ Association, Manasa Development Farmers’ Association (MADFA), and MUFA. (PIA XI/Michael Uy)
