PBBM lauds Bacolod City for success of MassKara 2022

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental (PIA) -- President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. congratulated the officials of this city, October 23, for the successful celebration of the MassKara Festival 2022.

The President said that Bacolod has created an opportunity for both local and foreign visitors to witness and enjoy festivities once again – an indication that Filipinos are now ready to return to normalcy and continue the work of alleviating the lives of one another.

He added that the comeback of MassKara Festival is very timely as it denotes the return of the smiles of the people following the struggles and hardships brough about by COVID-19.

The Chief Executive also expressed delight to be with Bacolodnons in witnessing the talents of the City of Smiles for the Street and Arena Dance Competition at the Paglaum Sports Complex.

Likewise, he said that Bacolod City in the celebration of Masskara Festival has set an example worthy of emulation by the rest of the country.

For his part, Bacolod City mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said that MassKara Festival 2022 shows the return of hope for the future as it signifies the recovery of the city from the ill effects of the pandemic.

Mayor Benitez also reiterated that the celebration was established as a reminder of the resiliency of the people of Bacolod after a series of disastrous events that struck the city and province of Negros in the 1980s.

President Ferdinand Romualdez-Marcos, Jr. share the stage with key officials of Bacolod City and Negros Occidental during the culminating of the MassKara Festival 2022 at the Paglaum Sports Complex, Bacolod City.

He also said that he is aligning his vision to recovery with President Marcos’ “Bayan Bangon Muli,” thereby adopting “Bacolod Bangon Muli.”

Before proceeding for the culminating of the MassKara Festival 2022, President Marcos also graced the distribution of government assistance to various sectors in Talisay City.

First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos and sons William Vincent Marcos and Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Ferdinand Alexander Marcos are also in Bacolod, serving as guests during the Electric Masskara Festival, charity event Masskarade Ball 2022 and other official functions.
