25 former rebels receives P2-M worth of E-CLIP Assistance

VILLANUEVA, Misamis Oriental (PIA)--The 58th Infantry “Dimalulupig” Battalion (58IB) in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Misamis Oriental, Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental (PGMO), and the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MisOr-PPO) held its turnover of Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) benefits valued at P2,528,000 to 25 former rebels.

As part of the Marcos administration’s campaign to continue the whole-of-nation approach in Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC), the E-CLIP serves as a program to aid former rebels to reintegrate back into society through the provision of financial, medical, legal, and housing assistance.

58IB Commanding Officer Christian Uy said the E-CLIP assistance will not only aid the 21 former rebels to reintegrate into mainstream society but will also aid their communities in attaining sustainable peace towards development by capacitating them towards becoming self-sustaining individuals.

Meanwhile, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Marisia Naybe disclosed that they are working closely with the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental (PGMO) to conduct complimentary support to the rebels.

After undergoing a ten-day deradicalization program at the Police Provincial Office (PPO) in Villanueva, the rebels are expected to undertake skills development and livelihood training to further boost their reintegration into society.

“Tinoud diay gyud na seryoso ang gobyerno na matabangan kami, magamit ni nako na hinabang para mapalambo nako ako kinabuhi, nagpasalamat ko sa 58IB, kang Governor Unabia, sa DILG, ug sa tanan na ni tabang sa amo,” said “Alyas Jener”, a former rebel (FR) who received a total amount of P176,000 Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) assistance.

(The government is indeed serious about helping us, and I can use this help to improve my life, I am thankful for the 58IB, Governor Unabia, the DILG, and everyone who helped me) (VPSB/PIA-Misamis Oriental)
