“After a thorough process of background checking by Google’s third party international verifying partner or auditing partner, they approved us and Google since then has been renewing their partnership with us for the last 3 years,” said Gallego-Dy.
“Because of the funds they share with us we are able to purchase all of our initial furniture including our sewing training facility. Almost 30% of the furniture you’ll see in the whole property is sponsored by Google Philippines,” she added.
One-third of the entire facility is dedicated to income-generating enterprises (IGEs), such as the sewing facility and Food processing facility, which were provided by Google Philippines, DOST, and DTI.
The safety of women and children, on the other hand, takes up around two thirds of the whole institution. The center features a reception, offices, a prayer room, Special Education (SPED) center, a learning room, a playroom, a crisis center, a dining hall, and 36-person capacity dormitory.
“All of the clients that we will be accommodating in the center will be provided with shelter, security 24/7, medical assistance, healthy food three times a day, house parenting 24/7, legal services, education, therapy, psychosocial services, VAWC seminars, livelihood training, and spiritual formation,” the MW organization underscored.
