DICT Isabela donates Tech4Ed package to Tumauini

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Regional Office 2 recently donated Technology for Education, Employment, Entrepreneur and Economic Development (Tech4Ed) package to the Local Government Unit of Tumauini.

The turn over of Tech4Ed package was conducted after the DICT -2 under the leadership of OIC Regional Director Reynado Sy and Tumauini Mayor Venus Bautista signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the establishment of Tech4Ed center in the town.

DICT 2 Director Reynaldo Sy said the center is a self-sustaining, shared facility and will provide access to ICT-enabled services and relevant content.

“This will serve as a conduit for efficient delivery of government and other services and a potent tool for the empowerment and participation of the unserved and underserved communities in development,” Sy said.

Sy said that the center will help harness ICT to bridge the digital divide and alleviate poverty in both urban and rural areas which serve as an e-learning center for the free use of computers with internet connectivity to the public.

He said it will also give communities access to information, communication, technology, government services, non-formal education, skills training, telehealth, job markets, and business portals.
