BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Local Government Unit of Dupax del Sur recently brought health services and other assistance in its upland barangays to boost the health and wellness of villagers.
Mayor Neil Magaway said the health program was conducted in the upland barangays of Biruk, Talbec and Abaca which offered free medical and dental services, haircut, eyeglasses, toothbrushes, slippers, school supplies for children, medicines and COVID-19 vaccination.
The COVID-19 Vaccination Program dubbed 'Nagkakaisang Estratehiya Inilunsad Laban sa Covid-19 (NEIL)' provides free rice supply for vaccinated villagers.
“This is our strategy to encourage our villagers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 since we still need to increase the number of our vaccinated persons in our municipality,” he said.
Magaway said the health services in their upland barangays were conducted in partnership with the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center (R2TMC), Philippine National Police, Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Dental Association (PDA), Provincial Integrated Health Office (PIHO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Cornerstone Health Ministries (CHM), Solonio Pharmacy, business sector and other volunteers and donors.
“We are grateful for the help and assistance of our partners. We hope to do more of these health services to boost the health and wellness of our upland villagers,” he said. (MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
