Quirinians feted in 2nd Southern Blood Zone SANDUGO recognition rites

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - Some seven barangay local government units, eight individuals, one municipality and one private company here were among those who were recognized during the 2nd Southern Blood Zone (Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilagan, and Ifugao) Sandugo Recognition and Awarding Ceremony recently.

The municipality of Maddela was adjudged as Municipality of the Year while Dalcon Construction Company was recognized as Outstanding Award for Non-Government Organization (Stake Holder).

Some seven barangays were also awarded as Outstanding Barangays, namely: Sto Niño, San Pedro, Divisoria Norte and Villa Gracia of Maddela; Rafael Palma, Diffun; Giayan, Nagtipunan and Sto.Tomas, Saguday.

Furthermore, eight blood donors also received Blood Galloner Awards. They are: Janiceky G. Domingo (70 donations); Mandy M. Valeña (48 donations); Arnold S. Paculor (47 donations); Amable S. Najera (42 donations); Rolando G. Gacusana (37 donations); Rodelio Asuncion (31 donations); Roselve Domondon (31 donations) and William Bill Doria (31 donations.

This year’s awarding ceremony which was held at Zen Hotel, Santiago City carries the theme, “Blood Donation is an Act of Solidarity Amidst PANDEMIC.”

Among the speakers of the ceremony were Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development Regional Director, Dr. Amelita Pangilinan, Santiago City Mayor’s Office represented by the City Administrator Engr. Paulino Tan., Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center, Southern Isabela Medical Center, and QUINVII Officers.

The Sandugo Award is a recognition given to local government units, private sectors and individuals in acknowledgement of their contributions and support to the National Voluntary Blood Services Program of the Department of Health. (MDCT/T/TCB/PIA Quirino)
