CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - At least 200 Jail Officers and Persons Deprived of Liberty from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Cauayan City joined the celebration of National Correctional Consciousness Week (NCOCOW) inside the jail facility.

Jail Officer Karla Mae Calaunan  said the theme for this year’s NCOCOW is “Mataas na Kalidad ng Serbisyong Pampiitan, Pagbabago ng PDL Tiyak na Makakamtan.”

Calaunan said the activity aims to encourage the PDLs to do good while inside the jail facility and enhance their talents and used them when they are freed in the facility.

Some of the activities that will be conducted during the week-long celebration include feeding program for PDLs, skills training by DepEd’s Alternative Learning System (ALS), Oplan gupit, gift giving, basketball tournament, chess and dama competition, medical and dental mission, legal consultation and other activities which will be participated by the PDLs.

Calaunan said the BJMP Cauayan management expressed its thanks to partner agencies that have extended their support in the conduct of activities during the duration of the celebration. 

Meanwhile, the BJMP Cauayan City said the management is prohibiting the visit of friends and relatives of the PDLs for now as cases of Covid-19 in the country are rising. (MGE / PIA Isabela)
