ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Saturday, October 22, recognized 5 establishments in Romblon that passed the Bagwis accreditation program.

Bagwis Award or the “Bagwis Seal of Excellence” is a part of DTI’s program recognized by the ASEAN Committee on Consumer Protection as one of the best practices in consumer protection.

The DTI-Bagwis Program gives due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of consumers while practicing responsible business where consumers get the best value for money.

The program also encourages the setting up Consumer Welfare Desks (CWDs) or an equivalent customer relations office that will provide information to consumers and serve as a mechanism for the speedy resolution of consumer complaints.

Among the awardees are the Magdiwang Agrarian Reform Cooperative Store, silver seal; Bronze Seal Awardees are J&C Lucky 99 Store, De Juan One Stop Shop, ARYA Coop General Merchandise, and CMS Automotive Care Services.

The awarding was part of the DTI's Consumer Welfare Celebration: Consumer Fair 2022 that was held in Odiongan, Romblon. (PJF/PIA MIMAROPA)
