BAGUIO CITY (PIA) - - The Department of  the Interior and Local Government – Cordillera(DILG-CAR)  recognized  its  outstanding partners in promoting responsive, resilient and participatory good local governance in the region as a highlight of the  Local Government Month  celebration.

Civil society organizations given recognition are the Anxiety and Depression Support Group Baguio, Baguio – Benguet Public Information Civic Action Group (BBPICAG), Cordillera Network of NGOs and POs (CORDNET), Council for the Restoration of Filipino Values (CRPV), DITENG Inc., Integrated Bar of the Philippines Baguio – Benguet Chapter, Jaime V Ongpin Foundation Inc., and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc.

Learning and research institute awardees are the University of Baguio, University of the Cordilleras and University of the Philippines – Baguio.

Also given recognition  are  the DILG Multi – Stakeholders Advisory Council (MSAC) and other government agencies namely the  Cordillera regional offices of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Civil Service Commission, Department of Agriculture , Dept. of Budget and Management, Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources, Dept. of Information and Communication Technology, Dept. of Health, Dept. of Labor and Employment, Dept. of Public Works and Highways, Dept. of Social Welfare and Development, National Economic  and Development Authority, National Intelligence  Coordinating Agency, National Police Commission, Office of Civil Defense, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Technical Educational  and Skills Development Authority, Philippine Statistics Authority and Philippine Information Agency, as well as the Police Regional Office - Cordillera, the 5th and 7th Infantry Divisions of the Philippine Army, Regional Trial Court  Branch 3, Dept. of Justice – Regional Prosecutor Office Region 1,  Liga ng mga Barangay – Cordillera and the City Government of Baguio..

DILG – CAR Regional Director Araceli San Jose and Asst. Regional Director Ruperto Maribbay Jr. led  the awarding of  plaque of recognition during the October 24 Opening Day of the Regional Local Government Month Celebration dubbed as “REACH and LEAD”, which stands for “Recognizing Exemplary Ambassadors of Capacity Development towards High-Impact and Leadership-driven Engagements in Advancing Devolution”.

San Jose stressed the importance of continuing collaboration and working together as a corps of united civil servants and civil society to forward an ideal Philippines.

“This is also the very reason why tonight we are recognizing our partner civil society organizations, professional groups, national government agencies, and members of our Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Council. Each of our partners have significantly contributed to and are all equally responsible for the success of our LGUs”, she said.

“Kung kaya’t taos-puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa inyong walang patid na suporta sa aming mga programa dito sa DILG,” she added. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
