LEGAZPI CITY, ALBAY (PIA)-- Preparations in Legazpi City are underway for the UNDAS celebration, including mitigation measures brought by the increasing Mayon Volcano unrest and possible effects of Tropical Cyclone Paeng.
At the City Disaster and Climate Change Resilience Council (DCCRC) meeting today, CDRRM Officer Miladee Azur said at least P1 million has been allocated for repairs and maintenance of evacuation centers.

The city is likewise on high alert as it prepares for strong rainfall since the city is prone to flooding.
For issues and concerns, the public can directly dial the 911 hotline.
To avoid overcrowding in cemeteries for the observance of the UNDAS, Azur encouraged the public to follow health protocols, noting the prohibition against hazardous weapons, liqour and loud activities in the cemeteries.
The CDRRMC also approved the realignment of DRRM budget amounting to P16,291,343.00 for added programs on flood control, climate change adaptation and mitigation and construction of facilities.
These include trainings and workshop and construction of the Legazpi 911 EAC-Building and installation of hazard information boards. (PIA/Albay)
