SAN FERNANDO CITY (PIA) – Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. presided over the turnover and change of command ceremony at the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) here on October 24.
Outgoing PRO1 regional director BGEN Belli Tamayo turned over the leadership of the “most disciplined cops” to incoming regional director BGEN John Chua during the ceremony.
The PNP Chief commended the accomplishments of the outgoing regional director for showing dedication, genuine service, and leading his colleagues in reducing the crime rate and strengthening the police community relations in Ilocos region.

“I am sure that Police Regional Office 1 will be in good hands. I am confident that your new regional director would be an embodiment of a good leader who finds ways to reach out with the general public through different programs and projects,” said Azurin.
Gen. Azurin also reinstated his peace and security framework entitled “MKK = K” which stands for Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan, and Kaunlaran, that he adopted during his incumbency as regional director of PRO1.
He added, “Umaasa akong mas lalo pa nating paiigtingin ang ating mga estratehiya laban sa kriminalidad upang mas mapabuti pa natin ang ating serbisyo sa mga mamamayang Pilipino.”
The turnover of command ceremony was attended by officials and personnel from the PNP headquarters, Armed Forces of the Philippines, regional government agencies, civil society organizations, and other members of the community. (JCR/AMB/KJCR, PIA La Union)
