SAN FERNANDO CITY (PIA) – The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 1 (DOLE RO1) will soon launch its digital initiative to update workers and employers about the labor sector.
According to Justin Paul Marbella, DOLE RO1 labor information officer, the online learning sessions dubbed “ADALEN: Advocating for Digitally-Accessible Labor Education in the New Normal” will kick off on Oct. 28, Friday.
In Iloko, the term "adalen" means "to learn" or "to be familiar with."
“This innovation aims to provide an avenue for workers and employers to equip themselves with vital knowledge on general labor standards (GLS), occupational safety and health (OSH) standards, work ethics and values, workplace productivity, among other essential topics,” Marbella said.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, ADALEN shall also be one of the platforms of the DOLE RO1 to regularly connect with their primary clientele in the “new normal.”
Marbella stated that the three-hour-long online learning sessions will be free of charge. It will be held on Fridays via Zoom from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
For the first episode, Nathaniel Pineda II and Engr. Analiza Occidental, both labor and employment officers, will talk about GLS and OCH, respectively.
