DAGUPAN CITY (PIA) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Field Office 1’s (DSWD-FO1) Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Regional Program Management Office will conduct a trade fair at the CB Mall in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan on November 14-16, 2022.
In a statement, DSWD-FO1 regional director Marie Angela Gopalan said the trade fair will be participated in by community-based organizations (CBOs) of Region 1 and representatives from different partner agencies.
Gopalan said, “The activity aims to showcase the CBOs’ products to a wider market place and provide opportunities for future business engagements with both private and government markets.”
She said, the EPAHP is a convergence program that has an essential goal to help mitigate hunger, ensure food and nutrition security, and reduce poverty in urban and rural communities.
“The EPAHP is intended to contribute to the efforts of the national government in addressing hunger and poverty through convergence of government agencies and development partners to directly benefitting the poorer sector of the country,” Gopalan said.
She added, “The DSWD serves as the lead agency in the EPAHP implementation as per memorandum of understanding that was signed on December 9, 2019.”
The DSWD said through the EPAHP, it will further strengthen the government’s efforts to achieve food security, reduce poverty, and end hunger and malnutrition. (JCR/AMB/PIA Pangasinan)
