BANGUED, Abra (PIA) --Mayor Mila A. Valera reported her first 100-days accomplishments as the local chief executive of this capital town highlighting on two of her priority programs.
These are delivery of various social services for the people of Bangued and the advancement of the agriculture sector of the municipality.
Valera said agriculture is one of the pillars of local development in Bangued, and she recognizes local farmers as contributors in the improvement of’ town’s agriculture.
Relative to this, various farmers' association (FA) in the municipality were awarded with a mark of gratitude after her speech. These are the Saoatan FA, Ubbog-Lipcan FA, Sunrice Providers FA and Sirmata ni Juan FA.
The mayor also presented 24 farm to market roads that she’s planning to upgrade. These are local access roads in the different barangays.
For social services, Valera stated that she led multiple barangay days in the town. The Barangay Day is an activity of the LGU in bringing various social services to the far-flung communities.
She also reported that she prioritized the processing of cash assistance of 27 tricycle drivers under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
“I have planned of prioritizing social services as my banner program because we’ve seen during our campaign the needs of our constituents here in Bangued,” the Mayor stated.
As the local chief executive wants to hasten delivery of services and level-up other processes in the LGU, she re-structed the office of the mayor and added some personnel.
Department heads positions such as Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, Municipal Disaster Risk and Management Officer, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, and Municipal Agriculturist were filled up.
Aside from her accomplishments, Valera also laid down her plans for the coming years which include improved disaster risk reduction and management response and other basic services. (JDP/CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)
