LAMUT, Ifugao (PIA) - - The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Ifugao marked its 55th “Holdak ya Baybayan di SDO-Ifugao” (founding anniversary) last October 24 at the  Lagawe Central School Gymnasium

The event coincided with the culmination of the month-long celebration of the Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) with Department of Education – Cordillera Regional Director Estela Carino as guest speaker.

Cariño congratulated SDO-Ifugao for commemorating its 55th founding anniversary which  is  also a recognition of the  valuable contributions of   the people who started the organization, the past school leaders    who  passed the dream of making it better for the future generation.

She emphasized on solidarity as the bedrock of any organization, saying “We do not work alone, but work with unity instead.”  

The celebration  was highlighted with the adoption  of    Cariño   as  a    daughter of Ifugao and  conferred   the name “Bugan,”the fairest deity of  Kabunyan  who was  noted for her undisputed beauty.

Cariño served as DepEd Ifugao superintendent from 2006 to 2013 serving with dedication and commitment.

She underscored that the  adoption is a privilege and a responsibility.

The SDO-Ifugao also awarded certificates of commendation to previous schools division superintendents in recognition of their   valuable contributions to the instirution. (JDP/MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao).
