BONTOC, Mountain Province(PIA)-- The Bauko Catholic School recently received from the provincial local government unit(PLGU) 37 tablets for students and teachers to enhance teaching and learning process.
Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr. personally led the turnover of the tablets last October 17.
The assistance is under the PLGU’s Special Education Fund (SEF) in line the Schools Division Office - Mountain Province’s TransformED: Reaching New Heights of Education.
Bauko Catholic School Principal Gideon B. Balcac thanked the PLGU for granting their request.
“Indeed, the Honorable Governor is here with his team for an important mission- that is to give us personally an early Christmas gift for you, students to use. We are very lucky that our request was granted,” Balcac said.
SEF Focal and Head Secretariat Maria Nelda Aluyen Lo said that aside from public schools identified and prioritized by the DepED Division Office, the government can provide subsidies to private schools only on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited budget and resources.
The Bauko Catholic School was the only private school to submit a request for tablets. (JDP/VJLT-PIA CAR, Mt. Province)
