P71.5-M worth of assistance provided to provinces hit by ‘Paeng’

QUEZON CITY (PIA) – The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) releases a situational report on Tropical Storm ‘Paeng’ on November 2, 6:00 AM. A total of P71,590,264.19 worth of assistance which includes Family Food Packs, hygiene kits, financial aid, and other forms of relief were already given to victims of TS ‘Paeng.’

One of the ceremonial distributions of assistance was spearheaded by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. when he conducted an aerial inspection of the affected areas and personally visited Barangay San Jose II, Noveleta, Cavite on October 31, 2022. 

To date, a total of 927,822 families or 3,180,132 individuals were reported to be affected by ‘Paeng’. Of these, 49,698 families or 176,337 individuals were served inside 2,904 evacuation centers and 277,825 families or 692,941 persons were served outside evacuation centers. 

Across the country, NDRRMC has confirmed a total of 92 deaths, 65 persons have been injured, and 36 missing persons due to ‘Paeng.’

Meanwhile, the current production loss or cost of damage to agriculture is P1,278,940,052.58 and P896,857,401.73 on infrastructure. 

Today, Malacañang announced that President Marcos Jr. signed Proclamation No. 84 declaring a state of calamity in CALABARZON (Region IV-A), Bicol Region (Region V), Western Visayas (Region VI), and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). He has directed to hasten the rescue, recovery, and rehabilitation across the affected regions.  (MVV-PIA CPSD)
