Antique solon releases AICS to families hit by STS 'Paeng'

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) - - Antique Lone District  Rep. Antonio B. Legarda, Jr.  continues to facilitate the release of Aid to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS)  for families affected by severe tropical storm "Paeng."

The Office of the Congressman has distributed food packs, boxes of mineral water and sacks of rice to various evacuation centers across the province following reports of the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) indicating that 43,853 families were affected.

The province also received additional funding for AICS  through Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

The distribution of AICS for families affected by the the storm started on November 1, 2022. A total of P466,000.00 were given to 233 families who were severely Paeng-affected in Patnongon town.

The distribution of AICS in the province will continue in the coming days, with the town of Laua-an receiving an allocation of P1.4 million to be distributed to 700 affected families.

Bugasong town will receive an allocation of P1 million for 500 affected families and the town of Culasi is given P1,176,000 to be distributed to 588 affected families.

There is an ongoing cash assistance payout of AICS  for families affected in the town of Anini-y with a total of 167 beneficiaries amounting to P334,000, and P156,000 for the town of Tobias Fornier for 73 severely affected families, while the municipality of San Jose received an allocation of P578,000 for its  289 beneficiaries.

The towns of Bugasong and Laua-an received financial assistance from the Office of Rep. Legarda to help transport stranded Antiqueños across Paliwan River.

The initial report on infrastructure damages is more than P45 million, while agricultural damages, as of the latest, is more than P73 million.
