BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) recently gave solid waste management equipment to the local government unit here to boost their Solid Waste Management Program (SWMP).
Jonathan Nuestro, DOST provincial chief, said the LGU recently received a Shredder and Dual Drum Composter to be used for the full operation of the LGU’s Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in barangay Magsaysay.
He said the equipments were given for the implementation of their "Partnership on Pilot Technology for Small Scale Waste Management in Nueva Vizcaya" funded by the DOST Region 2 Grant In Aid Program.
“We hope to see more improvement of our equiments so that it will be more helpful for our LGUs in implementing their SWMP. We are also encouraging our barangays to use them for their SWMP as well,” Nuestro said.
Mayor Tony Sergio Bagasao expressed his gratitude to the DOST for the equipments, saying the LGU will make use of them for the SWMP implementation. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
