ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) -- A freshman of Romblon State University College of Engineering and Technology bagged the top prize in the recently concluded 26th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Provincial Elimination for freshmen college students.

Vincent Earl Santallosa from CET was declared the champion after winning the clincher question against CBA's John Ruderick Magracia. Magracia lands in the second spot and Ailyn Mabilog in the third place.

The PSQ Provincial Elimination was conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority-Romblon and was held at Romblon State University Audio Visual Center.

In a press release, PSA Romblon said that at least 16 students from different colleges and campuses of Romblon State University and Erhard System Technological Institute participated in the activity.

During his talk, PSA Romblon Chief Statistical Specialist Johnny F. Solis expressed "that activity will showcase the knowledge and expertise in statistics of the country's bright young minds."

He also acknowledged the eagerness and efforts the participants exerted to prepare for the said event despite Typhoon Paeng.

The three will have a chance to represent the province in the Regional Eliminations in Calapan City. (PJF/PIA Mimaropa)
