CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - Department of National Defense (DND) Chief Senior Undersecretary Jose Faustino Jr led recently the 51st death anniversary of Col. Melchor F. Dela Cruz, whom the 5th Infantry Division's camp was named after in honor of his heroism and gallantry as a military officer.

Faustino led the wreath-laying ceremony to the bust monument of Col. Dela Cruz located just after the entrance gate of the army camp.

He was accompanied by 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army Commander B/Gen. Audrey Pasia, relatives of late Col. Dela Cruz and City of Ilagan Mayor Josemarie L. Diaz.

The startroopers offered gun fire salute during the wreath laying ceremony in honor of the heroism shown by the late military officer. 

Meanwhile, Faustino and Pasia also led the unveiling of 5ID Memorial Pylon dedicated to the departed soldiers who served in Northern Luzon.
