'Panublion' trade fair to highlight more innovations

ILOILO CITY (PIA) -- "Panublion," a regional fair trade of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 6, will be staged on November 16-20 at SM City Iloilo.

This year’s theme is anchored on “Advancing Solutions” that depicts the rich culture, innovations, and craftsmanship of Western Visayas.

“We will highlight the industries we are proud of such as hablon, piña, macramé weaving and other artisanal homegrown crafts using indigenous raw materials,” the agency’s press report said.

Around 120 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will be featured with new prototypes to highlight the initiatives of DTI 6 on product development for the six provinces of the region under the One Town One Product (OTOP) Next Gen Program.

Industry clusters, namely, bamboo, cacao, processed food and high value coconut products, and the products developed under the special programs implemented in the region will also be showcased.

These special programs included Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP), Ubra PWD and the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).

According to DTI, “Panubli-on” is a Hiligaynon term which means ‘heritage’ and best suits the homegrown products of the region. (JBG/PIA Iloilo/LMLE/DTI6 report)
