Super health centers up in 3 Capiz towns soon

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -- A super health center will be established in  Maayon, Dumalag and Tapaz towns as part of Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go’s advocacy to strengthen the public health care services delivery in the country.

“We will add more super health centers and Malasakit Centers in the country,” said Sen. Go, who chairs the Senate Committee on Health.

The country has 152 Malasakit Centers to date, which include the one at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Roxas City that was inaugurated in February 2020.

“Ito pong super health center maliit lang sa ospital pero mas malaki sa Rural Health Unit (A medium version of a polyclinic yet an improved version of the rural health unit)," the senator noted as he stressed the importance of enhancing the quality of the country’s health care system to ensure that poor Filipinos have access to their needed medical services.

Sen. Go was with Sen. Robin Padilla and Filipino actor Philip Salvador in his visit, Nov. 11, at the covered gym of Brgy. Adlawan, here to distribute the financial assistance and grocery packs, among others, to identified qualified beneficiaries who were affected by Tropical Depression Agaton in April this year.

The first batch of the financial assistance facilitated by Sen. Go from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) are 1,229 beneficiaries from barangays Li-ong, Adlawan and Loctugan in Roxas City who each received P3,000.

“The assistance you will receive today, you use it for the needs of your family and school expenses because we are still in a crisis,” the senator added. (JBG/AAL/PIA Capiz)
