DPWH completes new school building in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY (PIA) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Pangasinan Second District Engineering Office (DEO) has completed the newly built two storey, four classroom school building at Dulag Elementary School in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
 
Esperanza Tinaza, regional public information officer of DPWH Ilocos, said “With the new school building, students enrolled in Grades 1 to 6 can fully enjoy their new school with complete facilities.”
 
“With the full implementation of face-to-face classes soon to start, the newly constructed school building will significantly contribute to the school administration in welcoming more students in the new normal,” she said.
 
She added, “The classrooms have good ventilation, furnished walls and ceilings, and with comfort rooms. Water sprinklers, handrails and elevated ramp/stairs were also included in the new building.”
 
The project, with a contract amount of P12,534,445.92 funded under the Department of Education’s (DepEd) 2021 Basic Educational Facilities Funds, a convergence program between DPWH and the DepEd.
 
It was undertaken by DPWH Pangasinan Second DEO headed by District Engineer Edita Manuel.
 
The DPWH has been constructing new school buildings as part of its contribution to the educational sector's efforts in making public school facilities conducive to learning especially at this time of a pandemic. (JCR/AMB/PIA Pangasinan)
