Agri Extension Workers trained in farm management

TRECE MARTIRES, CAVITE (PIA) – The Department of Agriculture – Agriculture Training Institute (DA-ATI) – Calabarzon recently held a three-day skills training entitled, “Training on Farm Management”.

Around twenty (20) Agriculture Extension Workers (AEWs) from different provinces of the region and selected employees of the DA-ATI 4A participated in the skills training activity held from October 26-28.

Spearheaded by the Career Development Management Section (CDMS) of ATI-Calabarzon the training program aims to provide basic knowledge and skills to manage a farm to make it productive and profitable.

OIC Training Center Superintendent II/Center Director Rolando V. Maningas, PhD commenced the program with a video message to the participants.

Serving as a key speaker in the training program was Mrs. Gloria “Ka Gigi” Morris, Farm School Director of the Moca Family Farm Learning Center.

Ms. Morris discussed and shared methods and techniques for planning, organizing, leader entrepreneurship, controlling, and other farm management strategies.

Ms. Aurelyn Tolentino, an AEW from Sta. Cruz, Laguna expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of the training and learn additional knowledge on farm management.

“Ako po ay nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng bumubuo ng pagsasanay na ito at madami po akong natutunan. Training like this made me confident that I will be equipped in all the learnings that I will be needing to be a good AEW,” said Tolentino.
