LEGAZPI CTIY, ALBAY (PIA) – The Philippine Statistics Bicol (PSA) introduces ePhilID during the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Information and Education (IEC) regional roadshow to intensify greater acceptance of the public in mobile registration of PhilSysID, and a two-year integration plan prepared by the private and public sectors who attended the event at Marison Hotel Legazpi City on November 17, 2022.
‘’This roadshow which is all about the new innovative services to be promoted today, will gradually realize the PhilSys objectives, seamless delivery of services and promotion for this in global business. The PSA shall work hand and hand to promote and disseminate the benefits of having PhilID. Your active participation and support for this endeavor is very important,’’ Albay Chief Statistical Specialist Cecil G. Brodial stated addressing the attendees.

This is relative to the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s Memorandum Circular No. 95 which directs all government agencies, offices, instrumentalities and Local Government Unit’s (LGU’s) to prepare for the implementation of the PhilSys and its integration into government processes, and services.
As of November 14, a total of 922,082 clients were registered the province of Albay.
‘’Ít is about 74.07% out of the target 1.2 million Albayanos were registered,’’ Brodial said.
‘’I hope that we will encourage our co- Albayanos to register siince it is strongly recommended for the citizens to register. The PhilSys will be used for issuance and provision of government services.’’
PSA Bicol introduced the PhilSys digital ID including the ePhilID as one of the innovative ways to authenticate identification which will allow the registrants to enjoy its benefits such as better access to more financial and social protection services.
ePhilID can be printed which shows the person’s PhilSys Card Number (PCN) and basic demographic information.
Who can avail of the ePhilID?
According to the PSA Public Advisory issued on September 30, registrants who have successfully registered to Philsys or those who were issued with PhilSys Number (PSN) may avail the ePhilID.
To claim it, registrants should set an online appointment, and present their transaction slip to their selected PhilSys Registration Centers on the reserved date.
The printed ePhilID can be authenticated by scanning the QR code via PhilSys Check (https://verify.philsys.gov.ph/QrScan/).
If the verification is unsuccessful, registrants may report the issue through info@philsys.gov.ph , hotline 1388, and https://www.facebook.com/PSAPhilSysOfficial.
PSA emphasized that ePhilID/PhilID shall be accepted as the official government-issued identification document of registered person in all National Government Agencies (NGA’s), LGU’s, Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs), Government Financial Institutions (GFIs), financial institutions, and private sectors.
Penalties in rejecting valid ePhilID/PhilID
Republic Act No. 11055 or the ‘Philippine Identification System Act,’ established the PhilSys as the single national identification system for citizens and alien residents of the country.
Section 19 of RA 11055 cites that any person who refused to accept the PhilID or PSN of the bearer subject to authentication as official identification of the possessor without just and sufficient cause, will be subjected to P500,000.00 fine.
If the violation is committed by government official or employee, it includes absolute disqualification from holding any public office or employment in the government including any GOCCs, and their subsidiaries. (PIA5/Albay)
