2022 Dagyaw Town Hall Meeting held in Cebu

CEBU CITY, Cebu Nov. 17 (PIA) -- The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) here in partnership with the Highly Urbanized Cities conducted the Cebu Leg of the 2022 Regional and Provincial Dagyaw Open Government Townhall Meeting on Nov. 16 at at the Cebu Parklane Hotel, this city.

With the theme of "Hugpong sa Katawhan: Tinubdan sa Maayo ug Matinud-anong Pang-gobyerno,” the event served as an avenue to discuss relevant national and local issues and concerns among local government units (LGUs), civil society organizations, and other government and non-government stakeholders.

Some of the topics discussed during the town hall meeting were on the plans, programs, and priorities for various sectors such as the urban poor, labor, youth, peace, and development.

The one-day event also provided a platform for the government and the various sectors to strengthen their collaboration in fostering "participatory governance" through a healthy and productive discussion of different issues in the community.

And in line with their agency's commitment to promote "participatory governance,” said DILG Cebu Provincial Director Atty. Ian

Kenneth Lucero as he encouraged their partners and the public to actively participate in nurturing participatory governance.

"I encourage everyone to actively participate and strengthen our collaboration as we work together towards a participatory governance," he added.  (RGC/PIA7 Cebu)
